The children in each illustrations bring out the playful factor that juxtapose with the duty and responsibilities our parents carried while raising us.

An Inktober prompt with the word – HERBS

This prompt reminded me of the soup made my mom that are always full of herbs and ingredients.

Asian herbal soup is the best especially after a long day. It always brings me home. Text written in mandarin – Mom’s herbal soup! ☘️ Where she puts together a series of Chinese herbs and convince you that it can heal all things from heatiness to probably cancer. ⁣

In Chinese culture, a round shape symbolises completeness and reunion. This piece is made for Mid-autumn Festival, showing the annual reunion of a beautiful friendship.

Until we learn to listen and learn from people that are not like us, only will we know what we can do moving forward. I’m still learning, listening, researching and speaking up where I can find the words in light of BLM movement and also our own issues in our country.

I was invited to do a taster workshop of a multiple 30 minutes sessions, where attendees get to have a brief idea on what its like to do watercolour. While I, have a different idea – I want them to FALL IN LOVE with it!

Morale Boosting (in 30 mins)

So I figure the best way for a person to fall in love in any craft is to boost their morale on their first encounter with it. I came up with a few categories of things where they can either easily relate to like daily objects they can see such as plants, jars, ceramic cups, bottles and cats – all of which could be done within 30 minutes from sketching, colouring and detailing!

I first get them to select one illo from the options, and then I guided them from the shaping of illustration to the finalisation. Most importantly, having them learn how to create it with other mediums such as colour pencils too, which contributes to the quick detailing!

SOAR is a piece created for Malaysia’s 61st Independence Day, with the recent peaceful change of a new government from the election.

This piece is especially dear to me reflecting the tropical colours, plants and birds of my country, representing the cultural difference and beliefs coming together with a clear direction and goal!

Brief: To create a Christmas Campaign that was filled with wonderland and fairytale.

This campaign is to be made into a three part story for the client’s online campaign which will lead to the event days itself. It has to be aligned with their theme that is based on red bobbles, fairy and wonderland.

I was commissioned to create these scenes for the narrative which will be turned into posters and for their promotional materials. The story will tell about a transformative experience of a fairy that walked into a magic mirror and came out into a bobbles filled wonderland.

This piece was created on an insomniac night to contrast how I felt living with a restless mind. If only there’s a spell to keep the running mind still!

Candy Skies is a new year Instagram series that I made throughout the span of a few days with quotes that I try to live by for the year 2019. They are all inspired by different film and fantasy photographers!

I really enjoy how film makes ordinary looking things magical when its met with amazing photographers!

LITTLE RED is a personal series made to experiment on storytelling and my idea on a twist on the story Red Riding Hood. This story tells a character Red, who found a wishing fairy and ran away with her chosen dream of being a writer. She met a wolf who overstepped his boundries which she eventually killed with the tools she earned.

Where did all of them come from and how do I efficiently get rid of them?
Leading a more mindful and minimalistic lifestyle means discovering new ‘trash’ here and there, but they are ones that are still useful and deserve to fulfil their purpose in a different place! With that in mind I dabbled in Carosell app and a secondhand sales with friends -which helped us got rid of some good things and gained some neat grocery money!
